Health & Safety Policy Statement

Health and Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Working safely is a condition of our employment.

The Company recognises its statutory duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and accompanying legislation.

Safety affects everything we do. Whatever our job we each have a constant duty to ensure that we do not harm our colleagues, customers, contractors or the general public, in other words anyone who is affected by our activities.

The Company shall ensure that the requirements of the Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations 2006 (amended), plus all necessary Risk assessments, so far as is reasonably practicable, shall be complied with by all staff working on or about the railway infrastructure.

We must all do our best to create a climate in which we are always alert to risk and to ensure that proper safety measures are taken to control that risk. We must keep the Health and Safety of people in the forefront of all our minds and activities. We must also protect property and the environment in which we work.

The Directors of JLX Consultants Ltd readily recognise and accept our Health and Safety responsibilities. We wish to state our policy and intentions as clearly as possible:

To provide such information, instruction, training and supervision to enable our employees and contractors to carry out this policy

To identify and assess the risks in the workplace and put in place effective measures to eliminate risks or reduce them to an acceptable level

To provide the necessary commitment, co-operation, consultation, resources and organisation to enable all of us to meet the high standards we expect of ourselves

To comply with all current legislation, standards and our clients requirements, and to monitor our performance against those standards

To strive for continuous safety improvement in all our activities

To ensure that we keep a clear focus on safety as the company grows

Most importantly the Directors aim to put the safety of employees, customers, contractors and the general public above any other considerations at all times. When there is a conflict of interest it is our responsibility to resolve that conflict by putting Safety first.

This Policy has been prepared in support of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and applies to all Directors, Managers, Employees and Visitors of the Company.

This Safety Policy Statement is supported by a Safety organisation and general arrangements that details how the company is organised and manages Health and Safety. The Statement is reviewed on at least an annual basis and more frequently if circumstances require it.

Environmental Policy Statement

It is the policy of JLX Consultants Ltd to manage all of its activities so as to give benefit to society, ensuring that they meet relevant laws and regulations, are acceptable to our clients and the community at large and that their environmental impact is reduced to a practicable minimum.
In so doing, JLX Ltd will ensure compliance with its responsibilities under UK environmental legislation.

There are two areas in which we will positively influence environmental awareness and compliance:

In support of our core activities, we will ensure that our procedures for procuring consumable supplies maximise the use of sustainable raw materials, those that can be re-cycled and those that have already been re-cycled.

We will also ensure that our procedures for disposing of all waste materials maximise the possibility for the segregation of waste that can be re-cycled from that which can’t.

JLX Ltd will maximise the efficiency of its use of consumed energy through the adoption of an efficient transport policy for its personnel and the control of the use of its electrical supplies at its premises.

As a supplier of personnel to the railway industry, we will promote the highest standards of environmental excellence in client organisations by matching our project’s environmental controls with the policies of our clients.

JLX Ltd shall:
Encourage and promote best practice and continuous improvement in environmental performance.

Provide information and assistance to ensure that materials are used, stored and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.

Promote the open exchange of environmental information with clients and suppliers.

Provide appropriate environmental training where necessary.

Comply with the requirements of its client’s environmental policies.

Ensure efficient off-site disposal or re-use of waste materials.
